Adagio/Lift
with Keith Bonanni

Contact the studio to schedule a private session.

The art of cabaret-style partner lifts and moves. Beneficial to ballroom dancers, figure skaters, jazz dancers, and ballet dancers. Couples required. Males do not need dance experience.

Competition is available for serious dancers.



Ballet


Our classical ballet training emphasizes proper technique in a fun and supportive environment. All methods and techniques of ballet are taught, including both syllabus and non-syllabus classes. Cecchetti training and exam preparation (through the advanced level) are available upon request.


Beg./Int. Adult Ballet with Amy Hutchison

Int./Adv. Adult Ballet with Colette Kenville
     Fridays, 1:00 - 2:15 p.m.

A relaxed ballet class for adults with prior ballet knowledge.


Beginning Ballet & Tap: Ages 3 - 4 with Victoria Gilbert
     Tuesdays, 4:15 - 5:00 p.m.

Beginning Ballet & Tap: Ages 5 - 6 with Victoria Gilbert
     Tuesdays, 5:00 - 5:45 p.m.

Beginning Ballet & Tap: Ages 7 - 9 with Colette Kenville
     Fridays, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Youth classes introduce the young child not only to dance basics but also teach them French ballet terms while having fun.


Cecchetti Grade I with Victoria Gilbert
     Tuesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

This class will prepare the student to take the Cecchetti level one exam.


Beginning/Intermediate Ballet & Jazz: Ages 10 - 11
with Colette Kenville
     Fridays, 6:15- 7:15 p.m.

Ballet instruction for children with a working knowledge of ballet. Various styles are taught including Cecchetti method.


Intermediate Ballet: Ages 11 - 13 with Colette Kenville
     Mondays, 5:00 - 6:15 p.m.
     Wednesdays, 5:15 - 6:15 p.m.

Intermediate ballet for young teens. Various styles are taught including Cecchetti levels II, III, and IV.



Intermediate/Advanced Ballet: Ages 14 - 18 with Colette Kenville
     Mondays, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
     Wednesdays, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Higher level ballet for older teens. Various styles are taught including Cecchetti levels IV, V, and VI.




Ballroom and Latin

Fall term social dance classes feature
- a 5-week Beginning Swing session on Thursdays, in September
- a 5-week Salsa session on Thurdays, starting in mid-October
- and an Intermediate Swing drop-in class on non-football Saturdays.

Broadway
with Amanda Webster


Intro to Broadway: Ages 12 and up
     Saturdays, 1:00 - 2:00 pm

Beginning level class designed for the older student. You will learn Ballet as well as the fundamentals of other types of dance including Jazz and Tap.




Flamenco
with Holly Matthews


Private Group Flamenco
     non-football Saturdays, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
     Class dates: Oct 3, 24, 31; Nov. 14, 21; Dec. 5, 12, 19

Class is closed to new students; only returning students may enroll.


Beginning Flamenco (Sevillanas)
     non-football Saturdays, 11:00 a.m. - noon
     Class dates: Oct 3, 24, 31; Nov. 14, 21; Dec. 5, 12, 19

This class will focus on developing flamenco technique and footwork, while the main emphasis is on learning the four coplas of Sevillanas. Dancers may wear a long skirt or pants and flamenco shoes are highly recommended, although character shoes are acceptable. Most classes are accompanied by live guitar. Performance opportunities in Spring.

Flamenco classes need to be paid in full on first day of class. No drop-ins allowed for Flamenco.



Hip-Hop

Beginning Hip-Hop: Ages 14 and up
     Thursdays, 4:30 - 5:15 p.m.

This is a basic Hip-Hop class. The kids will learn how to warm up properly, basics of across the floor, and simple choreography and combinations. With fun music and style, it will be a very fun and lively class!


Intermediate Hip-Hop: Ages 14 and up
     Thursdays, 5:15 - 6:15 p.m.

A fast-paced class for students with prior Hip-Hop knowledge.




High School Performance
with Colette Kenville


High School Performance: Ages high school and up
     Fridays: 7:15 - 8:15 p.m.

Learn a variety of dance styles. This class is open to all students with prior dance experience. Performance opportunities are available during the school year.




Jazz Dance


Beginning/Intermediate Jazz Dance: Ages 9 - 12
with Colette Kenville
     Fridays, 5:30 - 6:15

This class will work on basic jazz dance technique as well as proper stretching for increased flexibility. Ballet encouraged as a companion class, but not required.


Intermediate/Advanced Jazz Dance: Ages 14 and up
with Victoria Gilbert
     Tuesdays, 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.

A fast paced class for dancers with previous experience.



Latin and Salsa

Beginning Salsa
Thursdays, 5-week mini session, 8:00-9:00 p.m.
Class will start mid-October (either Oct. 22 or Oct. 29)

With infectious rhythms in the music, this high energy dance will have you heating up the dance floor! This beginning class teaches the basics of club-style Salsa and basic Mambo.

Lyrical

Beginning Lyrical

Intermediate Lyrical
     Thursdays: 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.


A class focused on expanding lyrical artistry and strengthening technical elements through development of fluidity and exercises in choreography!




Social Dance Survival
Workshop taught by Louise Tamres

Dazzle your friends at the upcoming office party, wedding reception, or social gathering -- no more dreaded sway-of-death and good-bye to two left feet! A few easy steps are all you need to get on the dance floor and to dance to a wide variety of music.

Swing

Beginning Swing
Thursdays, 5-week mini session, Sept. 17 - Oct. 15, 8:00-9:00 p.m.

Swing to a wide variety of music: Big Band, Motown, Oldies and Rock 'n' Roll -- all the way to today's top music hits. Learn this fun and simple dance so that you can bop and boogie away at the next party!


Intermediate Swing
Non-football Saturdays, drop-in class, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
     Class dates: Oct 3, 31; Nov. 14, 21; Dec. 5

For dancers who want to improve their skills in East Coast Swing. West Coast Swing will be covered if there's enough interest. This is a drop-in class for couples -- please bring your own partner. Each lesson will cover different material and figures.

Tap


Beginning Ballet & Tap: Ages 3 - 4 with Victoria Gilbert

Basic tap technique will be taught, increasing the student's tap vocabulary and building a strong rhythmic foundation. The classes focus on Rhythm tap and Broadway-style tap.


Intermediate/Advanced Tap: High school students and adults
with Victoria Gilbert
     Tuesdays, 8:30 - 9:15 p.m.

Improve your technique and skills in this high intensity class, with focus on Rhythm tap and Broadway-style tap.




Private Lessons

Private lessons are available by appointment for all levels of any dance type (not just those listed above), for ballet of all levels, and for wedding preparation. To make an appointment, contact the studio.



Wedding Dance Lessons & Social Dance Crash Courses

Private bridal dance lessons or crash courses in social dancing are available upon request.

We work with many bridal couples either privately or in groups. Private lessons are customized to meet your needs and goals. Some couples are interested in working to a particular song, whereas others want general skills to dance during the reception. Our approach does not use choreography; a planned routine tends to stress the groom unless he has prior dance training. Our strategy is to teach you a basic step that fits your music, and then work on a few variations that fit your skill level. Your moves can be flashy or simple based on your personalities and abilities. We'll talk about a clean start and finish, and having fun while you're dancing. The more lessons you take, the more material we can add. Our goal is to make you comfortable with your big day rather than stressing about your solo dance. Most couples schedule 2 to 3 private lessons.

A one-hour session for up to 3 couples costs $75. The cost increases to $100 per hour for private groups of 4 or more couples.
