Adagio/Lift
with Keith Bonanni

Contact the studio to schedule a private session.

The art of cabaret-style partner lifts and moves. Beneficial to ballroom dancers, figure skaters, jazz dancers, and ballet dancers. Couples required. Males do not need dance experience.

Competition is available for serious dancers.



Ballet


Our classical ballet training emphasizes proper technique in a fun and supportive environment. All methods and techniques of ballet are taught, including both syllabus and non-syllabus classes. Cecchetti training and exam preparation (through the advanced level) are available upon request.



Beginning/Intermediate Teen and Adult Ballet with Amy Hutchison
     Summer term: Mondays 1:00 - 2:15 p.m.
     No classes July 14, July 21, and August 25 due to summer camps


A relaxed ballet classes for adults at any ability level.


Intermediate/Advanced Teen and Adult Ballet with Colette Kenville
     Summer term: Wednesdays and Fridays 1:00 - 2:15 p.m.
     No classes July 14-25 due to summer camps
     Class ends July 30


A relaxed ballet class for adults with prior ballet knowledge.

Youth classes introduce the young child not only to dance basics but also teach them French ballet terms while having fun.

Ballet instruction for children with a working knowledge of ballet. Various styles are taught including Cecchetti method.



Intermediate Ballet: Ages 11 - 13

Intermediate Ballet: Ages 11 - 14
     * Class will resume in the Fall

Intermediate ballet for young teens. Various styles are taught including Cecchetti levels II, III, and IV.



Intermediate/Advanced Ballet: Ages 14 - 18 with Colette Kenville
     * Class will resume in the Fall

Higher level ballet for older teens. Various styles are taught including Cecchetti levels IV, V, and VI.




Ballroom and Latin

Beginning Ballroom and Latin Dance

Summer classes TBD

Series of 4 progressive classes with focus on fun and acquiring general social dance skills. A different dance is taught each session (selection of Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha, Salsa, Samba, Hustle, and other dances upon request). Partners strongly recommended. Singles welcome, but contact the studio prior to coming.

Intermediate/Advanced Ballroom

An intensive class for dancers who wants to improve their skills, with in-depth analysis of technique and the finer points of partnering (as well as learning some cool new moves).

Belly Dance

Broadway Musical & Broadway Dance

Learn original Broadway musical choreography and proper styling.

Contemporary Dance

Explore trends in modern and classical ballet.

Flamenco


Beginning: Contact studio if you're interested in this class

Class covers technique, footwork, arms and hands, and Sevillanas with castanets. No dance experience necessary for beginning level class--just come, prepare yourself for hard work, and enjoy!


Intermediate: Contact studio if you're interested in this class

Class covers more complex technique and footwork. You'll also work on Sevillanas and Solea.


Attire:
Women: long full skirt; square, heeled shoes (flamenco, character, or other); and castanets. If you do not have castanets, Holly can recommend vendors.
Men: long pants, and slightly heeled shoes or boots.



Hip-Hop
with Liza Barnes


Hip-Hop: Ages 12 - 18
     * Class will resume in the Fall

This is a basic Hip-Hop class. The kids will learn how to warm up properly, basics of across the floor, and simple choreography and combinations. With fun music and style, it will be a very fun and lively class!




Jazz Dance
with Victoria Gilbert


Jazz Dance, Ages 12 and up
     * Class will resume in the Fall


This class will work on basic jazz dance technique as well as proper stretching for increased flexibility. Ballet encouraged as a companion class, but not required.




Latin and Salsa

Latin dances and Salsa are offered through our Ballroom classes.




Social Dance Survival
Workshop taught by Louise Tamres

Dazzle your friends at the upcoming office party, wedding reception, or social gathering -- no more dreaded sway-of-death and good-bye to two left feet! A few easy steps are all you need to get on the dance floor and to dance to a wide variety of music.

East Coast Swing is an easy and versatile dance that uses a wide variety of music: Big Band, Motown, Oldies, Rock ’n Roll, all the way to today’s top music hits. West Coast Swing and Lindy Hop are also available if requested. Partners strongly recommended. Singles welcome, but contact the studio prior to coming.

Intermediate Swing

For dancers who want to improve their skills in East Coast Swing. West Coast Swing will be covered if there's enough interest. Drop-in students are welcome (but let us know you will be coming).

Tap

Basic tap technique will be taught, increasing the student's tap vocabulary and building a strong rhythmic foundation. The classes focus on Rhythm tap and Broadway-style tap.


Beginning Tap: High school students and adults

No experience required for this fun introductory tap class. Increase your coordination, rhythmic ability, and learn your time steps.


Intermediate/Advanced Tap: High school students and adults
     * Class will resume in the Fall

Improve your technique and skills in this high intensity class, with focus on Rhythm tap and broadway-style tap.




Vintage Dances

Roaring 20s and Charleston, Ages 13 and up
     * Class will resume in the Fall


Ever dream of dancing at a Great Gatsby party or even at Downton Abbey? We’ll turn back the clock to the exciting Ragtime and Jazz Age eras as we revisit the hottest dances of the 1920s and 1930s – Peabody, One Step, Fox Trot, Blues, Maxixe, Grizzly Bear, and other zany Animal Dances. Bring out your inner Rudolph Valentino as you vamp to a sultry Tango (red roses in the teeth not included). Wanna-be flappers will frolic to the Charleston as we learn the Black Bottom, Mess Around, Bee’s Knees, Scarecrow, and Spank the Baby.

Partners strongly encouraged, but not required.

Private lessons are available by appointment for all levels of any dance type (not just those listed above), for ballet of all levels, and for wedding preparation. To make an appointment, contact the studio.



Wedding Dance Lessons & Social Dance Crash Courses

Private bridal dance lessons or crash courses in social dancing are available upon request.

We work with many bridal couples either privately or in groups. Private lessons are customized to meet your needs and goals. Some couples are interested in working to a particular song, whereas others want general skills to dance during the reception. Our approach does not use choreography; a planned routine tends to stress the groom unless he has prior dance training. Our strategy is to teach you a basic step that fits your music, and then work on a few variations that fit your skill level. Your moves can be flashy or simple based on your personalities and abilities. We'll talk about a clean start and finish, and having fun while you're dancing. The more lessons you take, the more material we can add. Our goal is to make you comfortable with your big day rather than stressing about your solo dance. Most couples schedule 2 to 3 private lessons.

A one-hour session for up to 3 couples costs $75. The cost increases to $100 per hour for private groups of 4 or more couples.
